“As we all know that in month of April 2025, the incumbent Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the immediate past Executive Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other leaders made a historical move to defect from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party at the center, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to align the state government with the national government.
“It is on record that my family and I made the same bold move with the governor to join APC to consolidate the Renewed Hope mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope for More Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Delta State.
“I want to state unequivocally that the rumor that I Chief Godwin Adode, have defected or making attempts to defect to the African Democratic Party (ADC) is not true and correct.

“My defection rumor as peddled, is a lie from the pit of hell, it is the handiwork of mischievous people to destroy my political reputation before right thinking members of the society, especially my political godfathers and leaders.
“There is no attempt by me to leave APC for ADC or any other political party as being rumoured in some quarters of the state and in the social media.
“To put the record straight, recently we had our APC ward leaders meeting purposely for the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise and to sensitized our ward members on the need why they should take the exercise serious.
“The mischief makers are fabricating lies to defame my person and others that the meeting held to sensitized them was met for my defection.
“I implore the state Governor, Ughelli North, my ward and the general public to disregard the rumor in its entirety as it was met to defame my political reputation and to cause confusion in Delta State APC.
